These elements take center stage in this cycle of paintings, and like in a movie, they roar toward us or pass by in a fleeting instant. David Antonides’ new series of large-scale works lets viewers feel it: Berlin’s railway network is the lifeblood of the capital. Spanning the city, multi-tracked yet unobtrusive, the rails carve their way through Berlin, setting the rhythm of the metropolis.The large-format paintings capture the dynamic essence of rail traffic with views etched into the subconscious of every Berliner. Yet, through the expressive visual language of the Canadian artist, these familiar scenes evoke new and unexpected emotions, inviting us to see the city through his eyes from fresh perspectives. Rest assured, a sense of deceleration will also take hold. On the platforms, waiting becomes a moment of contemplation—of graffiti, of architecture. The upcoming exhibition at the Produzentengalerie Brunnen64 invites you to embark on a journey through snapshots of the capital.     Sie gehören zur Berliner Stadtlandschaft ebenso wie zu den Gemälden urbaner Szenen von David Antonides: Züge, Bahnhöfe, Brücken, Passanten. Sie  sind die Protagonisten in diesem Bilderzyklus und wie in einem Film rauschen sie auf uns zu oder knapp an uns vorbei. David Antonides neue Serie großformatiger Arbeiten lässt es die Betrachtenden spüren: Das Berliner Stadtbahnnetz ist die Lebensader der Hauptstadt. Raumgreifend, vielspurig und trotzdem unaufdringlich graben sich die Gleise durch die Stadt und bestimmen den Rhythmus der Metropole. Die großformatigen Gemälde fangen die Dynamik des Schienenverkehrs mit Ansichten ein, die sich allen Hauptstädter*innen ins Unterbewusstsein eingebrannt haben und die dennoch dank der expressiven Bildsprache des kanadischen Künstlers unbekannte Emotionen transportieren und sie lassen uns die Stadt mit seinen Augen aus neuen Blickwinkeln sehen.  Seien Sie versichert, das Gefühl der Entschleunigung stellt sich auch ein.
